Environmental Assessment and Regulatory System (EARS)

EARS Online is an easy to use system which allows lodgment, submission and tracking of the following Mineral and Petroleum Environmental Applications:

  • Programmes of Work  - lodgment and tracking
  • Mining Proposals  - submission and tracking
  • Mining proposals with Mine Closure Plans - submission and tracking
  • Environmental Management Plans (State) - tracking (submission coming soon)
  • Oil Spill Contingency Plans - tracking (submission coming soon)

As Applications received by the Department are strictly confidential, in order to access EARS Online you must register against a Company. Only Applications lodged by the Company you are registered for will be displayed.

Please Note:

  • Only applications received by the Department from 1st June 2009 onwards are displayed.
  • You must specifically register and be authorised for EARS Online in order to use it. If you have not previously registered for EARS Online or are not yet a user of other online systems within the Department please register for access.

Please note that from the 31st May 2012 the Department of Mines and Petroleum will no longer accept hard copy Programme of Work Exploration (PoW-E) Applications. If a POW-E application is submitted in hard copy format after this date it will be automatically rejected.

These changes do not apply to Programme of Works Prospecting (PoW-P) or Mining Proposals at this time.
