Applications - frequently asked questions

Why am I having problems viewing the job description or advertisement?

The job descriptions and job advertisements are posted on the Department of Mines and Petroleum's (DMP) website in PDF format. You will need a compatible PDF viewer to open these files – an example of such a program can be found at www.adobe.com.

To download the file, simply left-click on the PDF image and follow your Internet Browser prompts to open the file. Alternatively, depending on your Internet Browser, you can right-click on the image, select ‘save as’ and open the file from your computer.

Where can I find the application form mentioned in the advert?

The form opens in a new window when you click the ‘apply now’ button. To complete the form simply fill in all the required boxes, upload your CV and other desired attachments and finish your application by clicking the ‘apply now’ button at the bottom of the page.

Why is nothing happening when I click on the ‘apply now’ button?

The button opens a new Internet browser window containing the application form. If a new window fails to open, consult your browser’s security settings or 'help' menu.

Depending on your browser or firewall settings, a pop-up notification may appear telling you a new window was prevented from opening. If this is the case, follow the on-screen prompts to allow pop-ups from DMP website and try clicking on the ‘apply now’ button again.

Why doesn't it work when I have followed the above steps?

If the above tips do not assist you with your problem, please send your application to recruitment@dmp.wa.gov.au and include the job position number in the subject line of your email.

Alternatively, please contact DMP's HR Officer listed on the advert to discuss alternative ways to send through your application.
