DMP is seeking feedback on the Environment Plan Summary submission process trial implemented in March 2016.
|Date:||Thursday, 24 November 2016|
The Department of Mines and Petroleum (DMP) is committed to improving transparency through public disclosure of environmental data and information.
In March 2016, DMP implemented a revised Environment Plan (EP) Summary submission process requiring operators to submit their EP Summary document at the same time as the Environment Plan lodgment. This change to the submission process has been made to enable the public to view information regarding petroleum and geothermal activities prior to activity approval.
The two EP Summary submission options are described below.
Select the EP submitted for assessment which will be used as the public disclosure document. Only one document is required to be loaded which is used for public disclosure.
- (a) Attach a public version of the Environment Plan, with confidential content removed, to be used as the public disclosure document.
- (b) Attach an EP Summary that meets the requirements of regulation 11(8), to be used as the public disclosure document.
Both (a) and (b) require the preparation and submission of an additional document for public disclosure.
DMP is providing the opportunity for all relevant stakeholders to provide feedback on the “EP Summary submission process” trial.
If you wish to participate and make comments, please complete the online survey by 30 November 2016.
Following completion of the consultation period, DMP will prepare and publish a response. All comments will be considered and applied where deemed applicable.
