Goldfields tenement holders are again being offered assistance to submit their Mining Rehabilitation Fund (MRF) online reports.

Department of Mines and Petroleum (DMP) officers will travel to the Goldfields in May to help tenement holders submit their MRF report for the current reporting period.

The compulsory online report for 2014-15 must be submitted by 30 June to avoid penalty.

DMP Executive Director Environment Dr Phil Gorey said that this year help will be available in Kalgoorlie, Coolgardie, Leonora, Sandstone and Mount Magnet.

“Tenement holders in the Goldfields who need help with their MRF online report will be able to attend a local sessions where an MRF officer will assist them through the process,” Dr Gorey said.

“The department received feedback that similar sessions held last year were extremely helpful for people who were unsure about submitting their report.”

Members of the MRF team are also available to assist tenement holders throughout April, May and June at the department’s head office in East Perth.

“We encourage anyone who plans to come into the East Perth office to email or call ahead for an appointment,” Dr Gorey said.

“This will ensure we are able to assist everyone who comes into the office as efficiently as possible.”

An appointment can be arranged by calling 08 9222 3162 or emailing MRFenquiry@dmp.wa.gov.au .

“Disturbance data must be lodged annually, even if you fall below the threshold and have no levy to pay,” Dr Gorey said.
