The Department of Mines and Petroleum has released its Guide to the Mineral Titles Division 2016.
The pocket guide, which is also available to download, was first released in 2014.
Mineral Titles Executive Director Dr Ivor Roberts said the guide summaries the division’s key roles and highlights some of the ways Western Australia benefits from the services offered by the Mineral Titles Division.
“The Division is responsible for managing more than 19,000 mineral titles which cover 16 per cent of the State,” Dr Roberts said.
“In 2014-15, the sector produced $75.4 billion worth of minerals across 50 different commodities.”
Dr Roberts said the guide provided statistics, staff profiles and information about tenement application processes.
“The guide is easy to understand, not only for those who are familiar with Western Australia’s mining industry, but also for the general public,” he said.
