This issue features all the action from mining industry emergency response competitions held late last year, along with a reminder of the importance of emergency preparedness from Resources Safety Executive Director Simon Ridge.

There’s a feature on significant enhancements to the Safety Regulation System that are coming up, and a diary of upcoming events on the safety calendar for 2016.

Director Mines Safety and State Mining Engineer Andrew Chaplyn reminds industry to ensure that safety is built into its operations in his safety message.

The magazine also covers a range of mining, petroleum and dangerous goods safety issues including safety alerts, guidance and legislative updates and, as always, Resources Safety Matters includes significant incident reports and safety bulletins published since the last issue.
