Seeking nominations of excellence from the resources sector

Do you work with a resources project that demonstrates excellence?
Date: Friday, 14 February 2020

Nominations for 2020 Resources Sector Awards for Excellence are now open. The Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety is seeking resources projects that demonstrate innovation and excellence in environmental outcomes or community partnerships.

Established in 1992, the Golden Gecko Awards for Environmental Excellence have recognised more than 60 projects that have developed and demonstrated new techniques, benchmarks and standards in restoration, research and renewable energy use in the resource sector.

Now in its fifth year, the Community Partnership Resources Sector Awards is expanding to recognise smaller resource operations with a shorter lifespan. This expansion will allow the smaller projects to enter and not compete with operations that are ingrained within a community for many years.

Nominations for the 2020 Resources Sector Awards for Excellence close at 5.00pm on Wednesday, 8 April 2020. More information about the awards, past winners and guidelines for nominating can be found at www.dmirs.wa.gov.au/excellenceawards.
