Applying for Trans-Tasman mutual recognition

Required information

The completed application form (which meets all the requirements of a written notice) must be accompanied by a certified copy of the current registration document.

You must also include one colour passport photograph if you are seeking recognition for a:

  • shotfiring licence
  • explosives drivers licence
  • dangerous goods driver licence
  • pyrotechnics (special use) licence
  • fireworks operator licence.

The passport photo must have been taken within the last six months and endorsed on the reverse with applicant’s full name, signature and date of birth.

Application fee

The costs of issuing certificates and licences for mutual recognition purposes are the same as those incurred when issuing certificates and licences in Western Australia.

Refer to Schedule of fees and charges to determine what the fee is.

If applying for mutual recognition for an authorised mine surveyor’s certificate the charge is the same for that of a certificate of competency.

Lodging the application

You must apply online via the Safety Regulation System (SRS).

Dangerous goods and explosives driver Trans-Tasman mutual recognition applications are now completed and submitted through Safety Regulation System (SRS) online.

A separate application form is required for each occupation.

Witnessing statutory declarations

Mutual recognition applications must be witnessed by witnesses authorised under different laws in each State and Territory of Australia and/or New Zealand to witness statutory declarations. Follow the links below for information on authorised witnesses in the various jurisdictions.
