Programme of Work Spatial Lodgement is an updated map-based application allowing users to enter their proposed activities, either by loading existing shape files or creating spatial files on screen (i.e. drawing proposed activities). The system then conducts automatic checks by intersecting the proposed activities with other data layers of environmental and cultural significance, alerting the user of the results. Any areas which need follow-up or clarification can then be addressed before the application is submitted. This will improve application quality and reduce assessment times.

Spatial lodgement will soon become mandatory for exploration activities, with the exception of Programme of Work Prospecting forms which will continue to be accepted in hard copy and online using DMP Submissions.
