The Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety (DMIRS) has revised the Mining Proposal and Mine Closure Plan for low impact mining operations and is looking for industry feedback.
The draft form was first released for public consultation in September and has been revised based on the initial round of feedback. DMIRS is now seeking any final comments from industry on the latest set of changes.
The revised form includes minor improvements to the criteria for a low impact mining operations, recognising the low level of operational risk for small mining operations. It should be noted, no changes are being proposed to the existing Programme of Work – Prospecting form.
