Public reporting of incidents

Members of the public can report any concern about environmental management of mineral industry activities around their communities to the Department of Energy, Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety (DEMIRS).

DEMIRS will review all the reports received and if the department determines there has been a breach of tenement conditions, or if mining activities are or will likely have an adverse effect on the environment, a range of actions can be implemented to address the non-compliance or environmental concern.

Environmental compliance is the responsibility of all tenement holders to ensure that mining activities are conducted in accordance with tenement conditions and regulatory requirements.

Lodge a public report of environmental non-compliance for mining, exploration or prospecting in WA.

Members of the public can report environment concerns related to mining activity through the DEMIRS Environmental Public Reporting Form.
