Company drillholes and surface geochemistry database

Latest data released on the department’s website
Date: Monday, 09 December 2024

Company drillhole and surface geochemistry data has been released on the Department of Energy, Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety’s Data and Software Centre.

The data has been collected and imported into the drillholes database from open-file reports submitted annually by mineral explorers on their exploration projects under Western Australian legislation. After a period of confidentiality, the exploration reports and data are made available to the public.

The required files can be found under the Datasets [GDA94] tab > Statewide spatial datasets - [GDA1994] > Company Drillhole and Surface Geochemistry Database.

Users can choose which SQL Instance they are going to use; the data is compatible with most recent versions.

Tables include Collar, Surface Sample, Geochemistry, Geology, Geophysics, Magsus, Survey and more. A database can be created from all the available tables or just the ones users wish to use.

New geochemistry tables are available, including two downhole flat assay tables:

  • a) A summary table with one row containing max ppm for 180+ analytes for each hole.
  • b) A table with one row containing max ppm for 180+ analytes for every measurement down each drillhole and for surface geochemistry a table with one row containing the max ppm for 180+ analytes for each surface sample.
