The Western Australian State Government has today gazetted the repeal of the Mining (Ellendale Diamond Royalties) Regulations 2002 and the removal of all associated references within the Mining Regulations 1981.
The Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety’s (DMIRS) Executive Director for the Resource and Environmental Compliance Division, Karen Caple, said: “The aforementioned regulations applied to the former Ellendale diamond project, which operated on mining lease 04/372 and no longer exists.
“The diamond royalty rate in the Mining Regulations 1981 was revised last year from 7.5% to 5% and there will be no royalty rate change or impact to the new owners going forward.”
