The Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety (DMIRS) has released proposed amendments to the Mineral Exploration Reports on Mining Tenements guidelines.
The guidelines are designed to assist holders of mining tenements in Western Australia in the preparation and submission of mineral exploration reports that comply with section 115A of the Mining Act 1978.
The proposed amendments include:
- Report compliance – forfeiture of tenements may be initiated if reports are not submitted or data is missing from the reports
- Online submission of reports will become compulsory
- Mineralogical samples – detailing the format of the unique sample numbers
- Addition of the program of works approval number and site rehabilitation columns to the surface location template.
More information, including a copy of the proposed amendments, is available on the department's consultation page.
