Special arrangements for online and over-the-counter tenement applications and renewals transactions for the end of year closure.

The department will close all of its offices, Perth and regional, from Monday, 27 December 2021 to Monday, 3 January 2022. Normal services will resume on Tuesday, 4 January 2022.
During this period, special arrangements are being implemented to ensure the integrity of the priority provisions for tenement applications and renewals under the Mining Act 1978. These arrangements apply to over-the-counter and online transactions.
Tenement renewals
Letters have been mailed to holders of tenements that expire or are due for renewal during the period Saturday, 25 December 2021 to Monday, 3 January 2022, advising them to submit relevant applications and documents prior to this period. According to departmental records, there are 61 tenements in this category.
Online transactions including tenement applications
During the closure period, online transactions (see screen capture) will not be possible.
- Sections 1, 2 and 3 will be disabled (greyed out). Tenement searches and rental payments will still be available.
- Section 4 will be disabled. This is to stop incomplete transactions from being processed after 4:30pm (AWST), 24 December 2021.
- Section 5, ‘Your cart’ will be cleared (for all affected users) at 4:30pm (AWST), 24 December 2021.
The changes above will automatically come into effect at 4:30pm (AWST), 24 December 2021 and revert back to normal at 5:00pm (AWST), 31 December 2021.
Over-the-counter hard copy transactions
These will be unavailable from Monday 27 December 2021 to Monday 3 January 2021. Normal office services will resume from 8:30am (AWST) on Tuesday 4 January 2022.
