The department is encouraging stakeholders to provide feedback on the Mining Proposal and Mine Closure Plan for Low Impact Mining Operations form before tomorrow’s deadline.

The Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety (DMIRS) is reminding industry to provide feedback on its revised Mining Proposal and Mine Closure Plan for Low Impact Mining Operations form by tomorrow.
The draft form was first released for public consultation in September 2017 and has been revised based on the initial round of feedback. Any final comments about the latest set of changes are due by Wednesday 7 February 2018.
The revised form includes minor improvements to the criteria for a low impact mining operation, recognising the low level of operational risk for small mining operations. No changes are being proposed to the existing Programme of Work – Prospecting form.
