The Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety (DMIRS) will host its next stakeholder forum for prospectors and/or small mine operators on 14 July 2017 in Kalgoorlie.
Run by the DMIRS' Environment Division, this event follows on from the two forums held earlier this year and will cover the current processes for environmental approvals and areas for potential improvement.
DMIRS Environment Division A/Director Operations Dan Machin, reinforced the forums were aimed at medium and small operators which primarily use the 'mining proposal for small operations' form.
"We see these forums as our opportunity to collaborate with local stakeholders to develop a submission process that will provide all of the adequate information and minimal red tape. The forum will give stakeholders the opportunity to engage in a discussion about the department’s expectations and how DMIRS will undertake its assessments," said Mr Machin.
The forum will take place at the DMIRS Kalgoorlie office, Cnr Hunter and Broadwood Streets, West Kalgoorlie from 1pm - 4pm on 14th July 2017.
