Two new Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) sheets are now available. The new FAQs cover digital identity and the WA Relationship Authorisation Manager (WARAM). The My Account FAQ has also been updated.

The FAQs provide answers to common questions such as:

Both new FAQs are available from WA’s State Government site under Publications. The My Account FAQ is available from DMIRS website.

What is the significance of a digital identity?

The WA State Government is now moving towards establishing and using digital identity in a number of online services.

A digital identity is an electronic representation of you online. With an appropriately established and verified digital identity, a government agency can be assured that the person they are interacting with is who they say they are.

DMIRS My Account supports digital identity and is currently integrated with the Geophysical Survey Index (MAGIX), FuelWatch and the WARAM, with the remaining online services coming onboard soon. A customer’s My Account, created with the use of their email and a password/passphrase, becomes their online digital identity with DMIRS.

When a customer uses the WARAM, they sign in through the My Account facility. My Account is a single sign-in solution which offers a choice to sign in with either your My Account or another established Digital Identity (such as myGovID), or Facebook or Google credentials.

What is the WARAM?

The WARAM is a whole-of-state government service for managing authorisations. It captures and enables the authority for a business or person to act on behalf of another business or person. The WARAM standardises this authorisation/relationship process and consolidates the view of these relationships across multiple services, allowing all authorisations in one place.

The first service integrated with the WARAM is the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation’s (DWER), Environment Online, which was launched 16 August.

If you are using the WARAM, a full set of self-help guides are available. These guides provide step-by-step instructions that includes screenshots to support you through relevant WARAM functions.

As other DMIRS online services and state government agencies onboard with the WARAM, you will have access to their services using these tools.

Digital identity along with the WARAM and My Account products form part of the State Government’s Digital Strategy, of which DMIRS was allocated $3.6million to improve public access to government services.
