Many analysts believe nickel prices will turn the corner in 2016, citing the lower Australian dollar, a continuing export ban by Indonesia, and China’s urbanisation.
Rare earths elements in Western Australia may no longer be the “next big thing” that many hoped for a few years ago, but the State has one prominent producer and projects that look promising.
A drilling program that is casting light on one of the State’s darkest and most mysterious corners is the subject of a special report on the Eucla Basin.
As well as unlocking doors to understanding the geological formation of south-western Proterozoic Australia, the Eucla project is revealing important targets for mineral exploration.
