The Spring edition of Western Australia’s international resources development magazine Prospect is now available in hard copy and online.
A special feature on Western Australia’s nickel industry finds that it is weathering challenging economic times.
Many analysts believe nickel prices will turn the corner in 2016, citing the lower Australian dollar, a continuing export ban by Indonesia, and China’s urbanisation.
Rare earths elements in Western Australia may no longer be the “next big thing” that many hoped for a few years ago, but the State has one prominent producer and projects that look promising.
A drilling program that is casting light on one of the State’s darkest and most mysterious corners is the subject of a special report on the Eucla Basin.
As well as unlocking doors to understanding the geological formation of south-western Proterozoic Australia, the Eucla project is revealing important targets for mineral exploration.
An article on this year’s Golden Gecko Awards for Environmental Excellence reports on the winning project by Chevron Australia ? a micro tunnel protecting coastal land next to the Ashburton River delta ? and the winners of Certificates of Merit.
