The Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety (DMIRS) is reminding tenement holders about the imminent deadline to complete and lodge this year’s Mining Rehabilitation Fund (MRF) reports.
All tenement holders are required to submit their reports before 1 July and failure to do so will result in a $4000 infringement notice per tenement.
DMIRS Acting Executive Director, Resource and Environmental Compliance Division Karen Caple, said the department has seen a fantastic response to date.
“Last year we achieved a 99 per cent compliance rate and we’re hoping to top that this year,” Ms Caple said.
Public access computers are available in the Library at Mineral House on Level 1 and at each of the regional offices where staff can assist tenement holders to complete their MRF report. It is also possible to submit the report using a smartphone or tablet.
