Department responds to industry feedback on mineralisation report route for a mining lease

New guidelines for submitting a mineralisation report and supporting statement when applying for a mining lease have been released following six weeks of public consultation.
The Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety’s (DMIRS) new guidelines are accompanied by a mineralisation report template and supporting statement template designed to assist stakeholders in preparing these documents.
The Mineralisation Report Response to Submissions is now available.
DMIRS’ Geological Survey and Resource Strategy Division Executive Director Michele Spencer said valuable industry feedback has resulted in helpful tools that will support proponents submit their applications and streamline the approvals process.
“Stakeholder consultation is an important step in understanding current industry needs and I would like to thank all participants for taking the time to provide their input.
“As a result, proponents have all the guidance documentation available to ensure their mining lease applications under a mineralisation report route comply with the Mining Act 1978.”
