The latest progress report on the Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety’s (DMIRS) Towards 2020 commitments is now available.
Towards 2020 is the department’s regulatory strategy for a safe and healthy resources sector. The commitments detail the goals, focus areas and measures of success for the department’s safety and health initiatives.
Its purpose is to give stakeholders a clear understanding of the department's regulatory focus on safety and health in the resources sector, beyond day-to-day inspectorate activities.
The report, published annually, can be used to assess the department’s performance and effectiveness as a safety regulator in the resources industry.
Towards 2020 provides an evolving snapshot of the department’s regulatory strategies and priorities over a three-year period, and will help ensure the department’s regulatory focus for safety in the resources sector is clear, consistent and transparent.
