When is a noise control plan prepared?
A noise control plan must be prepared and implemented within 6 months of completion of a noise report relating to a mining workplace. It is a written document listing the noise control treatments that have been decided upon, with a timetable for their implementation.

Who is responsible for the submission?
The noise officer is responsible for developing, reviewing and maintaining the noise control plan.
Lodging a noise control plan
A noise control plan can be submitted to either:
- the Hygiene Manager, who will forward the plan to the responsible inspector; or
- the responsible inspector (if known).
